Why hasn't this been all over the mainstream media? I think it may be relevant to the current news and the new President's plans to shut down Gitmo. This just may prove that we are at war, people. They are trying to kill us and are working on plans to use something more devastating than an airplane. This is why our intelligence officials must be able to use whatever means necessary to extract information from these pieces of trash.

Mark my words, should we be attacked again and they get what they want in the form of mass casualties, the media will throw the Obama administration under the bus and wonder why they didn't do more to prevent such an attack. The administration will find some way to pin it on the Bush administration and say that it was a result of the way we treated the boys at Gitmo and if we had just given them all teddy bears and lollipops and a hug every night before they went to sleep, they wouldn't have hated us so much.

We need to wake up and realize they will stop at nothing to kill as many of us as possible. If we have to rough up a few to get the information we need to prevent such a thing from happening, then so be it. Were they so concerned about the human rights of Daniel Pearl or Nicholas Berg or the others they brutally murdered and decapitated on film in an attempt to break our will to fight? They would do it again, and again, and again... no mateer how bad or good we treat there own.

I forgot about one other curious associate of Mr. Obama’s which makes 7; Raila Odinga of Kenya. Obama campaigned for Odinga and has even shared campaign slogans with him. Another poor judgment. If you don’t know who Raila Odinga is or what he and his Orange Democratic Movement is about, just Google his name along with Obama’s and see what comes up. There is an interesting video on YouTube about their acquaintance, as well.

Sorry for the typo, the first line in my comment above should have read "It is amazing to me how the press seems to overlook these types of associations."

Also, I forgot one other "friend" of Obama: Tony Rezko, a convicted felon who has ties to corruption in politics in Chicago.

Just another in the "flock" that we shouldn't use as a measuring stick against Obama's judgment, at least according to the Obama campaign and the main stream media.

It is amazing to me how the press seems to overlook this types of associations. If you "Google" the term Obama Khalidi, you will find that this story was in the blogosphere as far back as February, of course this is when Hillary's campaign was trying to discredit Obama and win the primaries.

Another thing you will find are two "paid" advertisements for sites that were set up simply as a PR machine to counter accusations such as this. I clicked one of those "ads" and on the site they had a quote that I found interesting...

'Barack has nothing to hide: he has openly described his relationship with Rashid Khalidi:

“[Khalidi] is not one of my advisors; he’s not one of my foreign policy people. His kids went to the Lab school where my kids go as well. He is a respected scholar, although he vehemently disagrees with a lot of Israel’s policy…To pluck out one person who I know and who I’ve had a conversation with who has very different views than 900 of my friends and then to suggest that somehow that shows that maybe I’m not sufficiently pro-Israel, I think, is a very problematic stand to take…So we gotta be careful about guilt by association.” '

Now, I could understand if there was only ONE person, as Obama says in the quote, who he has associated with that had a questionable past or relationships, but this seems to be a common theme with Barack's associates. Let's tally them up, shall we?

1. William Ayers
2. Rev. Wright
3. Louis Farrakhan
4 . Rashid Khalidi
5. Father Flagel
6. ???

Who's next?

Like my wise mother always said, "Birds of a feather, flock together!" But I guess this only applies to Republicans and shady acquaintances in junior high school.

What? This is exactly what is wrong with the Washington crowd, they think the laws that the rest of us "lower class" citizens live under don't apply to them. How can this guy possibly think he can just keep on doing business as usual? He needs to resign immediately and pay his price for being a greedy, self-absorbed crook. For him to think, even for just a second, that because he has been so beneficial for Alaska during his term as Senator that he shouldn't have to pay the same price you or I would if we were convicted of the same charges is proof positive that he is not what we need in D.C.

I think part of the problem is he is feeling picked on since it is obvious that most of our politicians are guilty of the same type of crimes, they just haven't been caught yet. We need to clean house at the Capital Building and get these types out of there. Until we do that, we will keep getting the same types of results from Congress.

The whole reason I joined this blog as a commenter is because I feel the same way as the founder, we need to hold our politicians responsible for their actions (or lack there of) and make them pay the price when they screw up. They are not above any of us and we need to make them understand that THEY work for US, not the other way around.

Comment on Commentary: Obama breaks promise on campaign finance by JBTaylor

"One year ago, he made a promise. He pledged to accept public financing and to work with the Republican nominee to ensure that they both operated within those limits."

This, in my opinion, could be an indicator of what we can expect from an Obama presidency. Once he and his campaign realized they really had a shot at the nomination and that they could raise some serious cash, they reneged on the promise to use public financing. This in turn has enabled the Obama camp to literally buy the election. With his 30 minute "infomercial" last night and the blitz we can expect in the coming days leading up to the election, his checking account balance will prove to be more of a factor than his character, past, and associations.

Which of his many promises made during his campaign will he bail on first once he takes the oath? Any bets?
